About the project

Theme definition:

Over the past few decades, our economic system has become almost an independent self-serving entity, causing a variety of social problems on the global, national, and community scales. One must therefore ask whether humanity should be subservient to the economy or whether the economy should serve the needs of humanity?
Our team explored this question during this week's (super intense) and fascinating workshop.

Project Summary:

During this intense and fascinating week-long workshop, our team considered this issue and raised the following questions:

How can we make the field of finance more accessible to the general population  and enable encourage asking critical questions?

2

How can we, as individuals and as a society, determine which values are the most important and shape our economy accordingly? Values that create a healthier, more prosperous society, resulting in a better individual way of life?

Since models in modern economics are extremely complex constructs, we sought to explore these fundamental questions in a more simplified manner following the course’s guidelines.

Our proposed solution is aimed to promote critical thinking and question-asking by taking the familiar shape of the “escape room”.

Participants are asked to choose the values they consider to be most important, both individually and collectively. These values would be registered in the form of an individual ID card, which could then be used when approaching different financial institutions. The goal of this conceptual exercise is to enable players to customize contemporary financial instruments such as investment tools, to best serve their values.
